For centuries, there has been an appreciation for the role of the
coach in sports — an understanding that no matter how successful
the athlete, the coach is essential for success. Today, literally every
competitive athlete has a coach — often more than one. For beginners,
the coach’s role is vital for learning and overall development. For elite
athletes, the coach’s focus is on refinement of skills and enhancement
of performance. Indeed, sports could not exist without the direct and
ongoing role of the coach.
Nothing can happen until you are authentically ready and willing to act. By virtue of the fact that you are here today, you have done so — and for that we congratulate you. Step one is officially complete!
There are many ways to get better informed about life, health, and wellness coaching. Dozens of books, magazines, videos, classes, websites, blogs, etc. are widely available. The Professional Coach Advocate (PCA) is the first and only certification program dedicated to empowering individuals to take a coaching approach. Everything is based upon proven, rigorously tested science and practice, so you can be assured of receiving the best and most timely information available. During the PCA workshop, you can expect a dynamic, interactive learning process that will allow you to explore the fundamentals of coaching. You will be encouraged to think about specific concepts, try them out, and measure and improve your coaching approach.
After successful completion of the PCA Workshop, you will become a member of The Coaches Registry’s on-line PCA Network. Here you will be able to interact with other coach– minded individuals — your fellow PCAs. You will also be able to maintain communication with your Registered PCA Instructor — the professional that facilitated your PCA Workshop. And, you will be given a variety of other tools that will ensure a successful journey toward optimum wellness.
This is the part of the process where you continue down the road to optimum wellness. The Coaches Registry believes that well-being is a journey — not a destination. You will continue your journey through participation in some truly innovative programs, including the on-line PCA Network.
